Work-Study Program

Adamah Art Studios offers a work-study program where you can work for a week in exchange for full tuition credit toward an eligible workshop of your choice. Please note that any workshop materials needed will be the participant’s responsibility. Participants contribute to housekeeping and culinary services during their work-study week. In exchange for a 40-hour workweek, you’ll receive a shared room in the Retreat Center, meals, and tuition credit. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with eight-hour days and flexible start and stop times. Housing and meals are included during your work-study week if needed.

Yes, meals and lodging are provided for work-study participants. You will stay in a shared room in the retreat center, and meals will be available throughout your stay.

What if I can’t complete my work hours due to unforeseen circumstances?

We ask work-study participants to commit fully, but if something arises, communicate with us as early as possible to discuss arrangements. Work-study hours must be completed before using the workshop credit.

Will I have studio access outside of my work hours during my work-study week?

Work-study participants will not have access to the studio, but there are plenty of ways to make the most of your time off. Feel free to relax in our library, explore the scenic trails around Bethel Horizons, or venture out to the Driftless Area’s beautiful local spots like Governor Dodge State Park and historic Mineral Point. These places offer unique views, art galleries, and natural landscapes that are perfect for inspiration and unwinding during your stay!

Can work-study hours be adjusted for special circumstances?

We strive to be flexible; let us know of any special circumstances in your application, and we’ll discuss possible adjustments.

Can I apply for both the work-study program and scholarships?

Yes, applicants can apply for both options if they meet eligibility requirements. Scholarships cannot be used to pay for the workshop materials fee.
